Hello
Dr Aaron Nelson, DO, MAJ(Ret), MC, USA
Welcome and thank you for your interest! One of the promises I make in our courses is that there is no fluff. We want to offer the most material in the least possible time. That includes wasting time on introductions and banter about backgrounds. Everyone should always analyze the quality of their information and credibility of its source. My background story is below, and I'm happy to forward my full resume to anyone on request. Our courses are fully referenced with sources and citations. I want our clients to feel confident they are getting the absolute highest quality instruction and skills. Please contact me with any questions or concerns!

The MIMS, Inc Story
MIMS, Inc is a result of my love of medicine, teaching, and service. My military journey started when I dropped out of college to enlist into the US Army as an 11x. I loved being a part of the Army and loved the people I served with. I separated from Active Duty to complete college and pursue medical school, ultimately knowing I wanted to return to the Army as a physician. I loved being an Army doctor, and there was no greater honor than getting to say to a wounded soldier, "I need you to focus. My name is Doctor Nelson, I'm a US Army anesthesiologist. We've got you now. It's going to be okay."
The people and experiences I've been surrounded by (both good and bad) shaped who I am and instilled a deep love for service and teaching. I have always been impressed with how many times the greatest difference someone made was not due the title they carried but the timely application of fundamental skills and knowledge. My fellowship director, Dr Somayaji Ramamurthy, at the University of Texas Health Science Center, used to say to us, "I can teach a monkey to do this procedure...I cannot teach you good judgement." After many years of trauma anesthesia and military medicine, my civilian medical practice is focused on Interventional Pain Management and functional rehabilitation.
MIMS focuses on teaching vital, but relatively simple, emergency skills with extreme attention to detail and focus on fundamentals. This type of knowledge stays with a person with proper initial instruction, and has low skill degradation over time. Our courses focus on key skills to apply in emergency situations in a timely and precise manner. Please contact us so we can discuss your organizations goals and needs, and how we can exceed your expectations.
